Eyes without a face | Video

“Eyes without a face” is a short documentary, Mayar Alexan and I made as part of our research for the project “A Ticket to Atlantis”.

We asked a group of volunteers on the island of Lesvos, Greece, a simple question: Which face you do not want to forget or can not forget from your encounters with refugees during your work at the island?
We felt that the least one can attempt to do is remember their faces, and be a witness to their passage. Those faces that emerge from darkness, from the sea and disappear again on their journey to safety.
